Are You A Lucky One?

One of the luckiest things that ever happened to me was when my friend won a radio station give away 26 years ago that flew 180 Americans to Dublin Ireland for a New Year’s Eve concert.

She took me as her guest.

That trip changed my life. She was lucky to win. I was lucky to be her guest.

Everything that I put into it after that lucky trip was hustle, hard work, tenacity and yes- a bit of more luck. If it hadn’t started with luck, I am not sure what my life would look like today. If I hadn’t made a choice to amplify and act on that luck to take the luck steps further and stretch the luck, I 100% would not be in the life position I am today.

Some people read scripture every day.

At our house, we read about luck.

This lil book sits in the kitchen.

Either my husband and I read from it every morning

We believe in luck.

But....I don’t believe that luck just “happens” to you.

Luck and being lucky goes both ways.

Looking for luck is important.

Putting yourself in lucky situations is critical.

Identifying a lucky moment--an opening--an opportunity and acting on it can be pivotal in your life and/or career.

The real magic of luck takes over when:

--you pay attention to luck

---understand it flows both ways

--capture it

--provide luck for others whenever possible

I remember a past President calling BS on leaders that claim hard work and brilliance is what got each person to where they were. He said:

"There's a lot of luck involved with the people at the top. They just don't want to tell you that"

I agree.

Life is filled with luck.

Successful people who live successful, happy lives do, in fact, have a lot of luck.

But, the difference between the warriors and wimps in life is what do you do with that luck?

Do you just say "Wow, that sure was lucky." then shrug it off and go about your day?

OR

Do you recognize the luck, take action on the luck and do something with the luck?

What’s your stance on luck?

Do you believe in it?

Can you spot it when it’s happening?

When it does happen, how do you stretch it and make the most of it?

Luck is an important part of anyone's success. It's there for all of us to grab and expand.
